One of my readers is a member of the LA Weight Loss Center in McAllen Texas. She feels the place has gone down hill. She says she is having to pay for products when they come back although she had paid for them previously.
She was wondering if there was anyone else in the Rio Grande Valley having problems with this Center. She’d like to hear from you.
It’s great when we make a commitment to lose weight. When we shell out money to join a program to accomplish our weight loss goal, and we receive shoddy service, it is disheartening. Because we are overweight doesn’t mean we aren’t smart. We can tell when we are dealing with a trained professional or a wanna-be professional flying by the seat of their pants.
There is a list of various jobs, such as sales managers, and counselors available with the LA Weight Loss Franchise all over the country. I wonder what the qualifications are for these positions. You can check them out here.
Anyone from the Rio Grande Valley?….Anyone else having a recent problem with their weight loss center?….I’d love to hear from you.
When I lived in MD I called them once and I was not impressed. Unprofessional and used hardball closing tactics. That’s not what someone is looking for when they call a place like that.
I’ve received an email in regards to this LA Weightloss Center. This person states management at all levels contributed to the closing of this facility. I don’t feel it is appropriate for me to post any names.
The Mcallen center is not closing any time soon. Yes it has to do with certain people that the center is not the same ,but the program does work. To all the clients in McAllen Tx keep up with your weight loss efforts.
I am really sorry that clients feel the way they do. I am an employee of LAWL but not in that center. Please know it is not the staff at the centers. It is corporate big leagueing them.
The staff has informed me that the last day for McAllen is at the end of May. After they said, “No we are not closing” those employeed in McAllen are liars. If any clients now if any and those that no longer go cause when I use to weight in they have 3 filing cabinets full of files, they could never find mine! I suggest get your products or your gonna get screwed.
The people in McAllen are not liars. They told clients when they found out. When they told you they were not closing that is because that is what they were told. Clients can still go in and get their products. Also, the clients are being put on the LA on the Go program. With that program they still get their products, and there is no shipping cost.
Hi There
I am so sad to have read all of the comments about the centers closing.
As an employee for La-weight loss in Toronto Canada I must say it is true. All of our Toronto Markets were just told over a conference on Monday Nov 3rd 2008 at 6pm by our corporate head office in the US (same one as stated in another blog) that our centers will be closing within the next 4 weeks.
The way this was done was just not right, they keep going on about how our clients come first and to try and get them on the la-on the go program before we shut down. And in the next breath we have been told to throw out all the before and after pictures of the clients (very sad). We too also told that we were not to say anything to the clients about the close and that they would be getting a letter about the center closing on their next visit in.
My heart goes out to all of the clients in Canada and the US.
I was a client before I started working there and have been in your sit as a client so I know what you all must be feeling.
As a now unemployed single mother of La weight loss I just wish they went about this in a different manner, at least they could have given us a heads up on what was coming.
I’m sure I will have a great Christmas this year.
Thank you for letting me post
A devoted La counselor from Toronto
