Mimi’s Café first opened for business in 1978 in Anaheim, California, originally owned and operated by the Simms Family. Today, Bob Evans Corporation of the famed Bob Evans Restaurant chains owns and operates Mimi’s which are now located in 22 states. Mimi’s Cafes are decorated in warm, French provincial décor with soft lighting and large booths and banquets as well as tables. Pictures of the Eifel Tower and other historical French landmarks decorate the walls. The waiters wear traditional black and white wait-staff attire.
MIMI’s MENU
The menu at Mimi’s café is diverse with breakfast including omelets and frittatas and Mimi’s famous muffins. There is usually a seasonal specialty muffin on the menu. For example, during the holiday season, a pumpkin spice muffin is featured. Starters such as Asian pot stickers accompany the lunch and dinner menu and they also include sandwiches, soups and quiches. Mimi’s “Just Enough” entrees are smaller meal portions. Bread baskets with pumpkin bread or raisin bread or muffins may be placed on the table before the entrees. Mimi’s also has a children’s menu for kids under twelve with traditional fare of mac-and-cheese and chicken tenders for lunch and dinner. Kid’s breakfast options include chocolate chip or mini-mouse pancakes. Kid’s Lunch and dinner entrees include the entrée, one side, a beverage and a dessert cup.
Mimi’s Café is famous for their huge muffins that visitors eat with their meal, as breakfast or take home with them. Buttermilk spice, blueberry, and oat bran and honey are just a few of the muffin options available to eat in or take out in packs of twelve or four.
