Souplantation and Sweet Tomatoes are two names for the same restaurants which are in business under the corporate name of Garden Fresh restaurants. The first Souplantation location opened in San Diego in 1978; in 1986, the chain expanded outside of the San Diego area. Currently there are 115 Souplantation and Sweet Tomatoes restaurants located in fifteen different states; corporate headquarters are still located in San Diego.

Most Souplantation and Sweet Tomatoes locations feature menu themes that change once or twice each month. Some special menu themes focus on a certain seasonal food; for instance, during a strawberry-centered theme period, the restaurant might offer several strawberry items in addition to its regular menu offerings. Other menu themes focus on a country or a type of cuisine; for example, the Italian theme period brings with it several Italian recipes.
One of the best ways to receive Souplantation and Sweet Tomatoes coupons is to sign up as a member of their “Club Veg” on their website or through membership forms available at each restaurant. As a member of the free Club Veg, you will receive periodic emails with special discount coupons, including “two-for-one” coupons that allow you to receive one free adult meal with each paid adult meal and two paid beverages. Over the course of a year, the coupons emailed to Club Veg members amount to over $75 in savings each year. Club Veg emails also include news items and announcements of special themed menus.
Souplantation and Sweet Tomatoes offer gift cards for sale; in December, a special gift card promotion is available for the holiday season, but anyone can purchase the gift cards and use them for themselves if they would like.
